The Sandlot

September 23, 2011

Thanks everyone for coming to The D-Dan Reviews! Today I’ll be doing a review on a movie called The Sandlot. This movie is about a young boy named Scotty Smalls who moves to a new neighborhood with his mom and stepdad, and wants to learn to play baseball. The neighborhood baseball expert, Rodriquez takes Smalls under his wing, and he soon becomes part of the local baseball buddies. But when smalls loses the ball signed by Babe Ruth to a legendary ball-eating junkyard dog called The Beast, the kids have to do everything they can to get the ball back.

I just plan loved this movie. I did let a lot of things slide though. But the producers couldn’t help it. For example, the effects weren’t that great. But it’s a pretty old movie. For kids the acting was really good,at least in some parts. What really struck me was the mix of personalities. Like Smalls nonchalant attitude and Rodriques caring attitude. I kind of thought those personalities would be switched around.

Some thing’s struck me as annoying. Like this kid who repeated anything his bother said. Also some things are inappropriate for kids to see and here. For example, use of tobacco, some profanity, and (may not be much of a problem to you) vomit. All in all I’d give this movie “The Bomb“. It is really good. Until next time thanks for coming to The D-Dan Reviews!

Good review, Dan. I enjoyed that movie, too, though it’s been a while since I watched it.
