Lincoln

November 21, 2012

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by The D-Dan Reviews! It has been a very long time but I’m back with a new review for the latest from Steven Spielberg, Lincoln! in this epic history film, the war continues to rage and America’s president struggles with the carnage on the battlefield and his fight with many inside his own party on the decision to emancipate the slaves.

Now it wasn’t my first choice in “gotta see movie’s” when the trailer came out, but if I could go back in time to then, I would have gotten myself excited. This movie was spectacular! it was so well put together especially for such a fragile subject. This is a great family movie to, for the parents who think there kids can handle the subject. It’s a great way to learn about our nation’s history and expound on your knowledge about the civil war.

There were two things I liked most about  the movie, one I loved. The fact that it wasn’t too gory. It was a nice pg-13 film and didn’t show too much blood but still showed the seriousness of the civil war. My favorite thing about this movie was the acting. It was so believable, so in-depth, and most of all so mesmerizing and real, you couldn’t help but to have empathy for the country and the president and all he was going through. Along side the acting was the humor. I had no idea the movie would be at all funny. Our 16th president was a character!

All in all I’d give this movie a NUCLEAR!!!! It was funny, had good acting, but most of all it kept the audience’s attention and that makes a great movie!

Dan, now I wish I’d seen that movie! I read a Lincoln biography last year before the movie came out and knew about his humor, but I didn’t expect it to show up in the movie based on the trailer. Might have to check out the DVD on this one.
